Irish online spending on groceries rises by a quarter to €140m

The figure far outstrips overall online spending growth here of 18pc, the study by online business body Ecommerce Europe says. “Food will be the future of ecommerce,” Ecommerce Europe policy advisor Luca Cassetti told a Retail Excellence Ireland (REI) event in Dublin on Thursday.

The change in consumer habits presents challenges for traditional retailers as consumer habits change. Food companies here, such as Kerry Group and Glanbia, have been teaming up with internet sellers as consumers buy more food online.


Strong retail sales growth in first eight months of the year

Irish retail sales were down 4.7% in the month in August but were 5.2% higher in the year in volume terms as against a revised annual increase of f 7.8% (+6.3%) in July.


Supervalu the top Irish supermarket but Dunnes Stores sales increase

Latest supermarket share figures from Kantar Wordpanel show that Supervalu remains the top Irish supermarket with a market share of 22.4%, while Dunnes Stores reported sales growth of 6.3%.

More than 250 executives from the Irish retail and FMCG industries attended the seventh Checkout National FMCG Awards, which took place Friday, 30 September at the Mansion House in Dublin

CPM was in attendance after being shortlisted for an award, and we are delighted to announce that it was another fantastic win, as our CPM/GSK team took away the “Best Sales Team / Field Sales Support” award.

This award is an honour for CPM & the CPM/GSK Team to receive and is tantamount to the work all our teams put in to Retail and provide for our FMCG clients on a day to day basis.

A night with CPM and three Soccer Legends

Last night CPM held an exclusive Client Evening with Soccer Legends Jason McAteer, Ronnie Whelan and David Fairclough.

They talked us through their winning performances over the years and had loads of funny stories. They discussed the importance of motivation for every team, the role of managers in soccer, the landscape of football nowadays and compared it to the days when they used to be running around the pitch. It was a great night full of soccer and laughs!

It was an honour to have welcomed these great soccer legends in our office and we would like to extend our gratitude to all the attendees for making it such a great night.

Understanding the marketing in Field Marketing in Ireland

The-Five-Ps-of-Marketing_Product-Place-Promotion-Price-Profit_35600At CPM we are often asked the question as to why the industry in which we operate is called “Field Marketing”, particularly as much of what we do is related to sales influencing and merchandising services. The simple answer is that any field activities are in essence an extension of the overall marketing strategy for a brand. All marketers learned the 4Ps as part of their training and education; Product, Price Place, and Promotion. Of those 4, Place is the one that Field Marketing mostly directly addresses, i.e. physically making the product available. The other 3 are much less effective if the consumers cannot purchase the product.

The award ceremony featured eight categories designed to showcase the very best that the local food and grocery retail industry has to offer.

The campaign chosen for entry by CPM & Lucozade Ribena Suntory was The Lucozade Sport Price Mark Pack Sales Promotion.
