CPM, in partnership with Lucozade Ribena Suntory was shortlisted with The Henderson Group and Irwin’s Bakery and on Friday May 22nd, at the Culloden Hotel in Belfast. The award ceremony featured eight categories designed to showcase the very best that the local food and grocery retail industry has to offer.

The campaign chosen for entry by CPM & Lucozade Ribena Suntory was The Lucozade Sport Price Mark Pack Sales Promotion.

Eye-tracking technology maps shopping habits

Women aged 18-34 are more likely to be impulse buyers while more than a third of all unplanned purchases are sweets or chocolate. Research on the shopping habits of customers in convenience stores shows that they spend €8.30, on average, every time they enter a shop. Around €3.18 of the spend is attributed to impulse buys.

A Fifth Of Adults Worry About Grocery Budget

A new study by Kellogg’s, ‘Is the Food Divide Getting Bigger?’, has found that a fifth (22%) of adults are worried about the amount of money they have to spend on food at the end of the month. This figure stands at 33% among families with primary school children.

Retail lags general recovery with Q1 sales up less than 1%

Ibec’s quarterly Retail Monitor survey has revealed a “concerning lack of real growth” in the sector in the first three months of the year, according to the Retail Ireland division of the employers’ lobby group.

Consumers starting to spend again, survey finds

Irish consumers are growing in confidence and have started spending money again according to a new barometer which measures spending across eight key areas. The Irish consumer spending index published by Visa Europe reports that consumer spending in April was up 4.3 per cent when compared with the same month last year. It is the fourth year-on-year recorded the credit and debit card company.
